If your property has recently been affected by hail damage contact your insurance company as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the longer it will take adjusters and contractors to assess the damage.
We recommend having your roof assessed by us before your appointment with your adjuster. Often times your roof may not warrant following through with an insurance claim and we're here to guide you through what to do next. This not only frees up the time of the adjuster to assist other clients but it protects the homeowner from adjusters that will deny claims that should not be denied.
Wind damage must be properly assessed as often times the cost to replace the damaged shingles is less than the cost of your deductible.
A PROFESSIONAL DAMAGE ASSESSMENT CAN SAVE TIME, CONFUSION AND HELP YOU PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT
Following a proper damage assessment we recommend contacting your insurance company and informing them of the results.
If your property is claim worthy an adjuster should be sent to your home by your insurance carrier. Sometimes a claim will be denied by an adjuster. We're here to help guide you the process of trying to get your claim approved.
You are entitled to schedule a second adjuster to inspect your property. If your claim is denied a second time you may hire a licensed engineer to assist you further.
ACV
(ACTUAL CASH VALUE)
If your policy is an ACV policy the adjuster will assess your property and depreciate the value of the items that they are willing to pay for.
Your adjuster will assess your project and an actual cash value will be determined. This may result in out of pocket expenses by the homeowner.
THE MATH
ACV minus your deductible minus depreciation =
your insurance budget.
RCV
(REPLACEMENT COST VALUE)
If your policy is an RCV policy the adjuster will assess your property and depreciate the value of the items that they are willing to pay for.
The depreciation is "recoverable" and will be added back to your claim.
This typically is enough to pay for restoring your project..
THE MATH
RCV minus your deductible = your insurance budget.
Sometimes an adjuster will miss items on your property that are in need of replacement. Often times we uncover damage that could not be seen by the adjuster. We work directly with your carrier to provide photos and required documentation
for adding these items to your overall claim. Upon approval of your claim we will assist you in understanding what is covered and what may not be covered by your insurance.
